Airforce.gr would wish to express its deep sadness and sympathy to the families of lost on duty HAF 341 Squadron F-16D pilots which caused the death of eleven airmen on 26/01/2015 in Albacete Air Base, Spain TLP 2015-1. It offers its sincerest condolences to the relatives of the victims, assures the injured of its support and confirms its solidarity with the close-knit family that is the Air Force.
About two months ago we had the pleasure to announce the winners of the contest for the Anniversary decoration of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) F-4 Phantom celebrating the 40 years in service of the type in greek skies. Now it is about time to reveal some exclusive photos of this beautiful aircraft performing its maiden flight taking off from Andravida Air Base.
On October 17th, 2014 we visited Araxos Air Base with mixed emotions. You do not have every day the opportunity to watch A-7 Corsairs flying that close to you but on the other hand knowing that those will be of the very last flights of the type worldwide our visit suddenly got in another dimension. It was not only A-7s that flew that day but definetely all visitors were anxious to listen to their "swan song".
On October 16th, 2014 we were more than lucky to be hosted by 116 Combat Wing and especially 336 Squadron for a Spotter's Day especially organized prior to A-7 Corsair retirement ceremony. Enjoy the photos taken at that day and read all the details.
