The poster was sold during Hellenic Air Force Open Day 2009 in 110 & 117 Combat Wing.

Quantity: Only 500 pieces have been printed (10 for every of 50 years of Phabulous Phantoms). Only a few will be given for donation through ebay. The majority have been given to 117 Combat Wing personnel and all other few remaining can be found at the www.airforce.gr web-site in the next days starting November 2009.

Information: This poster depictures an upgraded  Hellenic Air Force F-4E AUP Phantom II during take-off surrounded by all the related Hellenic Air Force patches. On the top you can read: “50 PHABULOUS YEARS”. It was designed and produced on behalf of www.airforce.gr web-site to celebrate the 50 years of the type in service and also give the opportunity to whom wish to contribute and donate the web hosting expenses and man-hours to design, organise and maintain the web-site.

International Plastic Modellers’ Society

The *IPMS Hellas is organizing its 28th plastic models exhibition from 21 to 25 October. For more information please visit http://www.ipms-hellas.gr/

*The International Plastic Modellers’ Society (IPMS) consist of local and national chapters of hobbyists interested in building Plastic model kits. The first chapter was established in the United Kingdom in 1963.

These chapters usually organise regular meetings or attend events of interest such as air shows. Within each chapter, Special Interest Groups (SIG) are formed which focus on a specific area or type of model building, for instance aircraft or science fiction figures.

Hellenic Air Force Open Day 2009

Like every year, the Air Force celebrates its patron Saint, Archangel Michael, by opening all air bases to the public from 6 to 9 of November 2009.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see static and photographic exhibitions of aircraft, weapons and ground equipment.

During the celebration, the Hellenic Postal Service will place a special commemorative stamp on envelopes mailed from Athens and Thessaloniki.

Memorial Services and wreath-laying will take place at Dekeleia AFB, on Saturday November 7th at 10:45.

New Gallery Album for Scale Models

We thank Herpa Miniaturmodelle GmbH and especially Mr. Thomas Borgmann for the kind donation of two models : Lockheed F-104G Starfighter “Mount Olympus” and  356 Transport Squadron Lockheed C-130 Hercules “Hercules”.
