Hellenic Air Force participated in Tactical Leadership Programme - TLP 2009 in AB FLORENNES, Belgium during second and third class of 2009 as following:
In second class 2009 (09 March - 03 April 2009) with 2 Mirage 2000-5 of 331 Squadron.


In third class 2009 (04 May - 29 May 2009) with 2 F-16 Block 30 of 346 Squadron.


In the concept of cooperation in training between Hellenic and French Air Force the Operational Training Unit (OPU) with airplanes fron airport Gazaux, visited 363 Squadron of 120 CW in Kalamata from 11-15 of May.
Three ALPHA JETs visited 363 squadron that flies with T-2E/C and continued on a schedule of combined training missions (air to air, air to ground etc).

Colorisation is the process that involves adding color to black and white, sepia or monochrome picture images. It may be done as a special effect, to modernize black and white films, or to restore color films. The examples date to the early 20th century, but it has become more common since the development of digital image processing. As you understand this Colorisation can give excellent results in historical photos that depicture airplanes of the previous century that probably never haven been caught before in color film. When we first saw the amazing work of George on the net we thought that it would be interesting to ask him some questions about his work and methods he uses. He as an exchange created a colorised picture of F-84G Thundetjets of Hellenic Air Force for us.

We tried to collect some photos of airplanes that flew over Acropolis which is formally proclaimed as the pre-eminent monument on the European Cultural Heritage list of monuments on 26 March 2007.The Acropolis is a flat-topped rock which rises 150 m (490 ft) above sea level in the city of Athens, with a surface area of about 3 hectares. In a few words for any who does not know is the most common symbol of greek nation and democracy since it was built under the leadership of Pericles during the Golden Age of Athens (460–430 BC). Phidias, a great Athenian sculptor, and Ictinus and Callicrates, two famous architects, were responsible for the reconstruction. During the 5th century BC, the Acropolis gained its final shape.

From 01 June 2009, all aerial firefighting means of the Hellenic Air Force are ready to protect the public, forests and the environment in general from possible fire so in order to cover maximum area they have flown to the following airports per type of aircraft:
- CL-415: 2 aircrafts to 113 CW (Thessaloniki), 4 aircrafts to 112 CW (Eleusis) and 2 aircrafts to 117 CW (Andravida).
- CL-215: 2 aircrafs to 113 CW (Thessaloniki), 2 aircrafts to 111 CW (Volos), 2 to aircraft 131 CG (Preveza), 3 aircrafts in the 112 CW (Eleusis), 2 aircrafts to 117 CW (Andravida) and 2 aircrafts in island of Samos.
- GRUMMAN-164 AgCat: 3 to 132 aircraft CG (Agrinion)
- PZL-18 Dromader: 2 aircrafts at each airport Chrysoupoli, Lesbos, Corfu, Kefalonnia, Lamia, Epitalio Andravida, Tripoli, Kalamata, Sparta and 4 aircrafts in Dhekelia

The 5th of June is the World Environment Day and one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. Hellenic Air Force is aware of the need for measures to protect the environment. Under this concept applies numerous measures and programs to ensure the environmental protection. In particular Hellenic Air Force develops actions for the implementation of which follows successful partnerships with third parties (Ministry of Environment, local authorities, waste management companies, etc.).
Some of that actions are the following:
- Protection of the natural environment through fire-fighting missions, monitoring forests, afforestation.
- Upgrade of the coasts.
- Limitation of nuisance from noise through proper design of flight operations and other noisy work. Read more »
